Dirty Diamond

You neither shine nor twinkle
But that does not make you any less of a diamond

Nobody knows of your glory
But that does not mean you are not special

Your truth is hidden in shame
But that does not take away your honest beauty

The world ignores you
But that cannot diminish your worth

You lie, waiting to be discovered
But that should not stop you from discovering your dreams

If only you dare to believe that you are a gem
Then you will find a world of wealth and shine yet unknown

Please smile then, and take heart
For you must now tell the story that the universe gave you
